President and CTO Douglas Lanz

I am an inventor, a business owner, and the creator (and patent holder) of PhaserTek ™, a Non Thermal Plasma (NTP) Technology based System, and by far the best Clean Tech solution for commercial and industrial odor and air pollution problems.

I believe that every person has a responsibility to try to improve the world in which we live. Having worked in so many large-scale facilities, I knew that industrial emissions were something that urgently needed our attention. Today I consider it a privilege to bring the PhaserTek technology to industries around the world; to be able to help clients reduce their impact on the environment, and to improve the quality of our air and the health of our planet for future generations.

Designing and developing the PhaserTek ™ system required that I use everything I’d learned during my 40+ year long career. I knew there was a need for new emissions abatement technology, and the need for systems that use renewable resources. PhaserTek ™ – a marriage of my skill in sciences and my passion for social and environmental awareness – was the answer.

I have been fortunate to be involved in many aspects of industrial design, training, and operations in many industries throughout my career.

Since graduating in the 1970s with a degree in Computer Electronics and Design, I’ve been involved in all areas and levels of industrial factory electrical and control design (including sales, engineering, site commissioning, and customer training and support) and have worked in myriad different large-scale facilities (including: glass, cement, and steel production; pulp and paper effluent treatment; automotive parts and assembly; animal feed production, polypropylene extrusion, and more).

I have worked as the Team Leader and Project Manager for many multi-million dollar factories. And I have worked with a variety of local and national firms with industrial design and control needs, as well as with some of the world’s largest consulting companies including, among others:

    • Dow Chemical Engineering
    • Sandwell Engineering
    • SNC Lavalin Engineering
    • Holcim, Switzerland
    • AustroPlan Engineering, Vienna
    • Alfa Laval Engineering
    • GM Oshawa, and
    • Toyota

My work has taken me all over the world. I’ve had the opportunity to work in Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa, South America, and parts of Asia.

Today I say quite confidently that my understanding of the needs and inner workings of large-scale facilities permit me to work effectively with anyone in any industry.

My work with has always me busy, so in order to maintain my fitness and energy, I have been practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong all of my adult life. (In my spare time, I also teach Tai Chi.) I also make use of all that beautiful British Columbia, Canada has to offer and hike, ski, and trail bike ride with friends and family.

And I love any opportunity to travel. I enjoy meeting and working with people around the world and value the opportunity to participate in the valuable learning exchange that takes place when we see how our global neighbors live and work.

Thank you for taking the time to explore the PhaserTek ™ site and read my bio. I look forward to meeting with to discuss the ways in which PhaserTek ™ can solve your facility’s emissions issues and – ultimately – work towards creating an environment where our grandchildren’s grandchildren can breathe easy.
